Secrets from the Spectrum.

The spectroscope was invented just over a couple of hundred years ago, and since then has revealed many secrets and surprises from stars, galaxies and the rest of the Universe.

This versatile instrument not only tells us what stuff is made from but can determine the speed of objects coming towards us or whizzing away from us.
