Cambridge AstroPlus

Travelling on Planets and Moons
Monday 7th June 2021
Start time : 19:15

Speaker : CAA

While orbiting spacecraft can give superb views of the planets and their moons, to take samples and analyse them and study the surface close up has always been a goal of scientists. But as technology has improved moving around an exploring these bodies has many advantages and scientific benefits. We will be looking at the various methods of getting around planets and their moons both existing and proposed, these include rovers, balloons, helicopters, planes, hedgehogs(!?), submarine, etc.

From now on the Cambridge AstroPlus incorporates the previous Cambridge Young Astronomers 11+ Group and also officially welcomes any of our members over the age of 11 to attend.

These Cambridge AstroPlus talks are presented by members of the CAA.
