High Energy Astronomy
Saturday 27th June 2020
Start time : 10:00
Speaker : CAA
This branch of astronomy had to wait until orbiting observatories were available to detect gamma rays, X-rays and extreme ultra-violet, normally obscured by our protective atmosphere.
There a nearly 20 of these orbiting telescopes still working with many more to be launched in the next few years. We'll be looking the energetic part of the spectrum, where all the exciting things happen.
As part of the presentation Brian will be playing all CYA members at once.
Just print off the game and you'll need need one dice and four counters
