Pirate Astronomy 1650 to 1725

Avast there you scurvy landlubbers, heave to, or we'll blast your tub to splinters!

But pirating was more than just plundering other ships, the navigator was one most important members of a pirate crew.

The navigator along with the captain and quartermaster would usually ran the ship, and his skill would mean success (and riches) for the crew. We’ll be looking at astronomy in the Golden Age of Piracy.
