The Cambridge Astronomical Association 60th Aniversary

The CAA began in 1959 and has been going 60 years and to celebrate this we lucky enough to have Dr.Carolin Crawford as our speaker for the evening.

Carolin's lecture will commence at 8pm and will be preceeded by the Annual General Meeting at 7:30.

Tonight we will hear a little of the history of the association as well as dealing with the formal agenda of the club

Carolin is an observational astronomer using X-ray, optical and near-infrared data to study the properties and immediate environment of massive central cluster galaxies and powerful radio sources at intermediate redshift. This research has been carried out alongside a growing role in the public communication of science. She has previously held the position Professor of Astronomy at Gresham College.
