Beyond the Solar System
Saturday 26th January 2019
Start time : 10:00

Speaker : CAA

On 1st January this year the New Horizons spacecraft whizzed by Ultima Thule giving us close up views of this small trans-Neptunian object (TNO).

However, just a couple months before the most distant object in our Solar System has been discovered:

This icy world, nicknamed 'Farout', is more than 3 times further away than Pluto.

These are just two events in a series of discoveries made in recent years, so we are now getting a better understanding of what lies beyond Neptune.
